Since leaving Middlesex University with a BA in Jazz Music Alex has built up his reputation on the session circuit working with many different signed artists and producers, playing a variety of styles, both in the studio and live, as well as in musical theatre productions. This has involved numerous appearances on all the major UK TV and Radio stations and performing live to audiences in their thousands in the UK and across Europe.
In the past year Alex has played Bass Guitar and Double Bass with many different projects. Amongst others he has toured the U.K. with Soul artist Bastedo, recorded and performed regularly with the Stardust Big Band, performed with CBeebies’ “Mr Bloom”, is part of the in house rhythm section at Pana Studios as well as playing in the pit bands for numerous Fringe theatre productions.
As well as this he has recently launched his new YouTube channel, MTBassCovers; a collection of bass covers of popular Musical Theatre hits.
Alex has Qualified Teacher Status and provides music instrument lessons in Junior and Secondary schools, as well as private tuition from his own studio.

Having earned a B.A. in Jazz Music Alex trained as a secondary school Music Teacher and achieved Qualified Teacher Status. Since then he has gone onto providing musical education at both Junior and Secondary schools teaching Keyboard, Guitar, Ukulele, Piano, Bass Guitar, Recorder, running Choirs, Orchestras, Jazz Bands and Singing Assemblies as well as Percussion and Music Education workshops.
Currently Alex focuses on Guitar (Classical, Acoustic and Electric), Bass Guitar, Piano (Classical and Jazz) and Keyboard working from the Rockschool and Trinity syllabi at four schools as well as privately from his studio in Ruislip, HA4.
All lessons are tailored to the student, addressing their strengths and weakness but most importantly what they are looking to achieve from their playing. Areas covered include technique, reading (tablature and standard notation), music theory, ear training and styles.
Private lessons are £15/half an hour.
Alex is Enhanced DBS checked and has taken the latest Child Protection Training.
